In each of the lessons below, (click on each chord to get to the lesson) I talk about specific chords and show you how to use each one. I tell you exactly where to use them and how to use them in chord progressions, with examples.
I cover the most commonly use chords here - these are the ones you should get started with... There are no more than 4 options for each scale degree.
Start with the MAJOR 6 chords and go through the lessons in order...
Some of these are not in chord books - but I share diagrams with t least 4 forms and have sheets available for the chords all the way up the neck.
I make it easy for you to start using these beautiful chords right away.
Embellishments for the I (or IV) chord are:
- 6 (major 6 chord) - Happy and relaxing - Used for endings - (START here)
- Major 9 - Relaxing and restful (then here etc...)
- 6/9 (major chord) - Warm, sweet and mellow
- Major 9 #11 - Floating, pleasing, slightly unresolved (learn about 11 chords in general here)
