Here we learn how to jazz up any chord progression.

NOTES: Simply take any basic progression (with basic chords) and swap the chords out for the chords in a scale harmonized with 7 chords. 

Normally if I present a basic progression at least the V chord will be a dominant 7 chord, here I intentionally avoided that (and used basic major chord for the V chord) to make it an extra basic progression - in the second progression the V chord is a dominant... 

If you got scared when you saw the Fmaj7 chord don't worry substitute it with the "family sub" we learned here, which is a Dm7. So the new progression will be Cmaj7 - Am7 - Dm7 - G7.

If we do the same this for the G major progression ("family sub" for the IV chord) you'll have Gmaj7 - Em7 - Am7 - D7...

If there are weird chords in the progression (other than what you find in a normal harmonized scale) there may already be some chord substitutions or borrowed chords, in which case you'd have to know where the chord came from and follow the rules for that scale degree and that scale to know what 7 chord to use.
